Welcome to Clarity & Me

Ever since you first laid eyes on this brand new person, their growth and well-being has been your highest priority. You want to set them up the best you can before they meet the modern world with its constant stream of information, sky-rocketing anxiety rates, and ongoing social media pressure.

Sadly, as a parent you know it’s going to happen eventually.

You can’t keep them wrapped in cotton wool forever - even though they look so adorable in it…

So, you need them to be as ready as they can be.

To understand their body. Their brains. Their connection to each other.

To be confident in themselves. To build resilience and competence. To be prepared.

They’ll discover all of these things.

Refining their motor and mental skills, learning to build positive, empathetic relationships, and gaining clarity into who they are going to become…

All in the therapeutic care of Clarity & Me OT,

So, why are you here?

You didn’t get here by accident.

You’re here because you’re concerned.

Maybe you’ve just started noticing something.

Maybe it’s something you’ve always been aware of but now it’s becoming more and more obvious.

It might be that although you know it’s wrong to compare, you can’t help but notice that this something isn’t happening to other parents with their children.

You might be blaming yourself. Wondering if it was something you did. If you did something wrong

All children are unique. Yours are no exception. And you don’t want to change them. But still, you worry, because you don’t want them to be disadvantaged.

Because you love them.

And yet, you wish they could regulate their emotions, so that every small upset didn’t escalate into a meltdown…

Or

That they are better able to interact with other children, so you could let them play with their cousins unsupervised…

Or

That they had a stronger sense of motor control so that every moment on a playground didn’t have the potential for injury…

You could cross your fingers and hope for the best. It’s not impossible. Gradual improvement with age does happen.

Or, you could connect with us.

See how our scientifically backed learning strategies can work for your child.

Watch them develop their new skills and coping strategies.

And discuss how occupational therapy from Clarity & Me can work with your child to give them back all of the advantages you want for them.

How we support your child

To succeed in life, more than anything else, your child needs self-confidence.

More than talent. More than ability. Yes, even more than intelligence.

Confidence in their ability to solve problems - whether that’s building a tower, or how to mix the right colour with their paints.

The confidence to engage and work with others - to share and co-operate.

The confidence to communicate effectively - articulating their emotions and ideas rather than becoming overwhelmed.

And the confidence to operate the incredible gift that is their body - learning both its limitations and the extraordinary things it can achieve.

As a parent, the most meaningful trait you can give them is confidence in themselves, in who they are.

Because that confidence and understanding of who they are is the key that will unlock their growth in every one of those other areas.

Confidence allows experimentation.

And experimentation leads to growth.

One simple skill leads to all the others.

And the thing that feels almost magical about the process is: It’s a loop

Building their skills increases their self-confidence. Which in turn increases their ability to develop skills. And so on.

Potentially for the rest of their lives.

Do you see what I mean when I say confidence and self-belief in who they are now, is the biggest factor that will determine who they become?

Not all children are naturally self-confident. Maybe you are worried. Although it’s natural to be concerned, try not to be. Self-confidence is a skill and it can be nurtured and developed.

From the moment we meet your child, we focus on creating a strong bond with your child to boost their confidence. We engage with them in activities they love, fostering a sense of safety and support. It's all about making them feel comfortable and confident in our care.

Interventions are individually crafted to captivate your child's imagination, with brain-building skills weaved  into enriching play activities.

Your child will develop their fine and gross motor skills. From the detailed muscular movement required to grip a pencil or a paintbrush, through to the major range of motions like running, jumping, and skipping.

They’ll work on their social development, interacting with other children in a co-operative, collective way, developing respect and friendships in a way that best works for them.

And when things don’t go right, they’ll also have the opportunity to test and work on their newly taught skills in regulating and managing their own emotions and feelings

Every one of our therapy interventions is based on the latest and most relevant science-backed theory.

None of them are designed to just solve one short-term problem. They also aren’t designed to remake, or change your child’s unique, beautiful personality.

Instead, they look to build a confident, capable young person with the skills and mindset to become a lifelong learner.
